Rounds 5 & 6 of the Kicker Pro National Series took place this past weekend at the National Western Events Center in Denver, CO. The dominant Phoenix Racing Team (Jace Owen, Fredrik Noren and Isaac Teasdale) were in attendance, as were many new faces to the 2019 series.
Round 5 took place on Friday night, and while the action was plentiful and the competition proved tough, the Phoenix Racing Team managed to hang on to the top three spots in both the 250 Pro and Open Pro classes. Owen, who has proven unstoppable in the series thus far, took first place in each class, followed by Teasdale and Noren for the second and third places.
Saturday night looked to be following a similar path, with the Phoenix racing team snagging the top three spots yet again in the 250 Pro class, but when the gates dropped for the Open Pro Main, a few other racers were determined to get one of those top spots on the podium. And Vance Wofford succeeded.
Wofford, who made his 2019 Kicker Pro National series this weekend, showed up to race and boy did he ever. Wofford finished 4th in the 250 Pro on Saturday, 4th in the Open Pro on Friday night and 3rd in the Open Pro on Saturday night. Wofford, along with Preston Taylor, Mitchell Gifford and Nicholas Maret, came close to de-throning the Phoenix Racing team at every turn throughout the weekend.
Wofford, seemed to find his groove as the weekend went on, and with Rounds 5 & 6 being his first taste of arenacross action this year, many are wondering if he poses the greatest chance to claiming that top spot from the (so far) unbeaten Jace Owen.
One thing we know for sure is that if you didn’t get to witness these races in person, you are going to want to tune in to FS2 to see all the battles for yourself. The full TV schedule can be found here.
With the next stop of the Kicker Pro National Series taking place in Greensboro this coming Saturday, top talent from the East Coast are expected to enter the battle of the series. Things are sure to get interesting, and we’ll let you know all about it next week.
